Wound Sediment Filters

£4.00£36.00 Incl. VAT

Our Wound Sediment Filters are manufactured in the UK using FDA and EC approved materials, popular for numerous applications including private water supplies, drinking water and pre-filtration for UV systems. Wound filters also known as ‘depth filters’ have a high sediment holding capacity, trapping a broad range of particulate thanks to their graded density construction whilst maintaining a low pressure drop. We stock a variety of sizes for both regular and large diameter filter housings alongside several micron ratings from 1 micron to 100 micron.

Product Features
  • Available in all industry standard sizes and micron ratings
  • Manufactured in the UK from FDA approved materials
  • EC certified for drinking water applications
  • High sediment holding capacity
Choosing Product Size
We stock these filter cartridges in a variety of lengths, with your choice of either regular diameter (2.5″) or large diameter (4.25″). Choose a size that matches your existing filter housing or flow rate requirements. Most standard filter housings are compatible with these filter cartridges, but are available for purchase separately if required.
Choosing Micron Rating
Choose a micron rating based on your requirements. The lower the micron rating the smaller the particle size it traps. If the micron rating is too low then the filter can get blocked quickly, so it is important to strike a balance based on the water quality and application. Where installed prior to a UV system, a 5 micron pre-filter is recommended. For help choosing a micron rating please get in touch before placing your order.

WOUND SEDIMENT FILTERS

Manufactured In The UK

Wound or ‘string wound’ sediment filters are a cost effective solution for removing sediment and turbidity in liquid applications. Able to filter out a broad range of particulates including sand, silt, dirt, and rust. Made in the UK from high quality, food grade polypropylene, these filters offer excellent chemical compatibility with various liquids and are certified to EC standards for drinking water applications. Their versatility makes them suitable for several industries, including potable water treatment, food or beverage processing, private water supplies and chemical production. They are also effective as a pre-filter to a UV or RO system, helping to maintain operational efficiency.

How Long Do These Filters Usually Last?
The average lifespan of these filters is 6-12 months depending on water quality and flow rate. If the filter is visibly dirty or the water pressure has dropped, then this is an indication that the filter needs to be changed.

Why Choose Our Wound Sediment Filters?

  • Food grade polypropylene for excellent compatibility
  • Graded density to trap a broad range of particulate
  • Manufactured in the UK using the latest technology
  • Suitable for a range of liquid applications
  • Low initial pressure drop
