TURBIDEX MEDIA
Efficient Backwashing Media
Turbidex is the preferred media for suspended sediment control, especially for private water supplies such as boreholes and wells. Its high porosity and hydrophilic nature allow it to operate at higher service flow rates than conventional filtration media, with lower pressure drops and extended service time between regenerations – meaning less water required. Turbidex is an all-natural and environmentally friendly filtration media manufactured from Clinoptilolite ore.
Turbidex incorporates traditional straining as well as ion-exchange, flocculation, sedimentation and both physical and electrostatic absorption, producing crystal clear water down to <0.1 NTU of turbidity (3-5 micron). For operating conditions please refer to the summary below.
Operating Conditions
Water pH: Wide Range
Max. Water Temp: 140°F / 60°C
Bed Depth: 24-36 Inches
Freeboard: 50% Of Bed Depth
Backwash Flow Rate: 15-20 gpm/sq.ft.
Backwash Bed Expansion: 30-40% Of Bed Depth
Service Flow Rate: 12-20 gpm/sq.ft. (Local Conditions May Require Lower Flow Rates)
How Often Do I Need To Replace The Media?
Turbidex should be regularly backwashed to clean captured sediment from the media bed. Replacing the media once every 4-6 years is recommended to maintain optimum system performance.
Why Choose Our Turbidex Media?
